Around 100 students and missionaries were involved in our summer project. The camp was on the Black Sea. Along with a student from Brasov, Mircea, I went with some young people, Irinel and Marius. They were from Bucharest. At first they seemed to be interested in God. When I started to preach against sin Marius started to feel uncomfortable and asked me what I wanted. I told him that "we had around 100 people here. In the past we all had lived miserable lives, but we repented of our sins and Christ changed our lives. We decided to tell others that God could save them. This is what we want." He left very upset. Irinel followed him. Costel was a man from Videle in Teleorman county. He was open to hear the Word of God. After I shared the Gospel with him I asked him "Did what I have tell you disturb you?" He said "No, I am not disturbed." I continued, "But I want you to feel disturbed." He was surprised and asked me, "Why?" I answered "So that you would meditate upon what I told you. Your eternity is at stake." He said that he understood me. I also gave him a New Testament. Alex is a student in the Police Academy. He is Bebe and Ani's nephew. Eugen studies Constructions. Both of them were open to hear the Word of God. It was a miracle for Alex to get into the Police Academy and he admitted that only God helped him. I shared the Gospel with them. While I was talking Alex's heart was touched. He said that he wanted to be a Christian, he liked to be with God and he wanted to join us in our projects. He had tears in his eyes. I asked Eugen whether he wanted to repent. He answered that he was not ready. He still enjoyed his friends and the cakes and ale. Nelu was one of my classmates in high school. His wife died of cancer. He is a widower with two children. One is 7 and the other 11. I shared the Gospel with him and encouraged him to trust in Christ for the wages of his sins. He listened to me and received the New Testament that I gave him. Please pray that the Lord will have mercy on him. George is from Brasov. He is a salesman in a supermarket. Costica was one of my colleagues on the faculty. I have been praying for the opportunity to share the Gospel with Costica for a long time. God did more than I could have asked Him. I went with Costica to the supermarket. There we met George. God conducted my sharing with George. He told me, "Many bad things happen in this world. I believe the pollution causes the climatic changes." I felt the urge to tell him, "The evil around us and everything bad that happens is because of sin. People are sinful. We live the most deformed philosophy of life. People believe there is no good or wrong. Everybody believes in their own truth. God's wrath will deal with this philosophy. But God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son..." I continued to proclaim the Lord Jesus and how he could have a relationship with Him. Both George and Costica are orthodox. Costica was next to me and listening. I was very glad. This summer his oldest son went to a camp with my son, David. We had faced some struggles before his son was accepted into camp. Those who organized the camp didn't want to take him because he was too young. He wasn't 13 as all the other children. Andrei cried. Costica and his wife were sad because of that. But God gave us victory. Finally, Andrei went to that camp and he repented. He was crying out, "I am a believer, I am a believer!" Costica told me, "My son changed, he is wiser." Doris is a student in Brasov. Recently she took her final exam. She attends the youth group Violeta is a student in Brasov where she lived an immoral life and became pregnant. Following an abortion, she felt great guilt and feared that God would judge her. She hungered for God's forgiveness. Ana M. is a girl from our group. God saved her through our ministry. She went to proclaim the Gospel in the dorms and met Violeta. Violeta was open to the Gospel. Ana invited her to our summer project. There Violeta received the Lord Jesus. She even went with Ana to proclaim Christ. Please pray for her boyfriend to look to God too. Other testimonies of the students from the evangelistic project: A student - "It was the first time that I went to proclaim the Gospel. We met a lady who told us that she never read the Bible and she didn't have time to go to church because of her friends." Iulian, student in Bucharest - "We started to discuss with a bored young man. Meanwhile a friend of his joined us. They told us, "We are believers too." However, I asked them, "If you died where would you go?" Their answer surprised us, "Only God knows that." They were baptized, but they did not know the Lord." Lenuta from Sibiu village -"I met a girl who hated her father because he didn't allow her to go into night clubs and bars as all her friends did. I shared the Gospel with her and I tried to help her to understand that her father loved her." Bogdan, student in Ploiesti village - "I met some young Hungarian people. They had relative principles and they didn't agree that the Bible was the absolute truth. Then I proclaimed the truth to a family of engineers and then to a young man who received the Word and thanked us." Cristina - "I talked with two young girls from Belarus. Irina, my friend, translated for them in Russian. They were interested in God. In Belarus there is a spiritual persecution. The student ministry was shut down and the missionaries were investigated." Claudia - "I met two young men from my hometown. At first I hesitated to tell them about the Lord. But they saw my bracelet with Jesus on it. They asked me about it. So I started to tell them about God. One of them told me that he worked for a boss who had lived a very sinful life. But then he repented and was amazed by the transformation of his boss's life. Then they told me about other believers who lived in sin. I realized again how important it was to live my life for Christ before the non-believers." Mircea from Brasov - "I met a boy on the beach. He listened to us when we proclaimed the Word of God. Then he told us, "I have a friend who had been all right, but then he went crazy. Now he is with God, the Bible, and he doesn't attend the parties. He is just like you." I continue the weekly Bible study with the families from our church. I also continue to get involve in the Wednesday evening Bible study and preach the Word.
