In July and August we communicated less with you. The reason it happened was because we traveled much of the time. Although we didn't had access to the internet, God was with us the whole time.

I went with my entire family to several projects. Between the projects we stayed at my parents who live in the center of the country. We also visited our brothers in Christ where we had served and encouraged one another.

There occured so many things over these two months that it is hard for us to write them all down. But we saw God's glory in everything. We faced some hard times and defeats. We realized how weak we were. We would like to be stronger, but the good thing is that we realized our dependence on God. I ask myself sometimes: "How can people live without God?" He is in our hearts and we can trust Him, but still we are fragile. I wonder: "How do people live without God?" And I don't have an answer for this question. Praise the Lord because he supports us in our battles and weaknesses.

In Hebrews 11 there is a list of people who can be called the "heroes of faith". That passage makes an incredible affirmation: "of whom the world was not worthy..." Their action, their sacrifice, everything they did, brought a blessing to the world and the world hated and even killed them. Thus they became heroes of faith. They acted by faith and trusted on someone they couldn't see. I believe I can give the same name to all the participants in the medical projects organized in Romania. We were in two projects this year in Craiova and Fagaras.

Craiova

In Oltenia there are the fewest evangelical Christians in all of Romania. The influence of the Ottoman Empire is still active. Craiova is the largest city in this area. The Lord guided the leaders of that project to choose that city. We organized a medical project in five villages: Dobretu, Rastul Nou, Plosca, etc. Along with believers from USA and Romania we presented a testimony for Christ in these villages. Each day around 250-300 patients benefited from a medical exam. They received glasses and drugs. Also they had the grace to hear about God's gift. Each person received a New Testament. There are many stories to tell. We also faced temptations and struggles. One of the struggles was to keep being witnesses for Christ and not to become mechanical. Because there were many people we were tempted to treat them superficially. The Lord was good to us and we managed to collaborate with the mayors of those villages. Pastor Liviu C. took care of everything. The meetings were held in schools or community centers. In one of the villages, the entire staff of the city hall helped us to organize the project. Because there were no rest rooms, a car from the city hall was available to drive us when we needed a restroom. Praise the Lord! We had the opportunity to talk to them and to be a testimony before them.

The unknown heroes of Romania are those who gave up their time and money to minister to the poor people who couldn't pay them. I thank God for everybody who was a servant of Christ. It was a blessing to work next to my family.

During the medical project in Fagaras during July 11-20 we met new people who had the same attitude of a servant of Christ. Our prayer is that the Lord will pay them back for everything they did for the Romanians. As a Romanian I want to write them and say, "Thank You!" (with my own hand as Paul did). We want to thank you too. Because of your financial and spiritual support we can work among students and be a voice for the Lord.

At the summer students project over August 4-10 we addressed the subject of "Becoming people after God's heart" There were 89 students. Twenty of them were from Timisoara and the others from Cluj, Sibiu, Brasov and Bucharest. The Lord was good to us and we were a testimony before those we talked to. I personally had seven discussions with different young people. I found out that there was a great spiritual confusion and unbelief. But I know the Lord loved those young people because I chose to talk to them among all the other people from the beach. I also tried to spend special time with my disciple, Bogdan. We shared our deepest thoughts, prayed together and proclaimed the Gospel. The Lord is working in his life and I am glad to see how he embraces Christ's victory and disgrace.

Students' Testimonies

Felicia and Stefan - "We posted bills for the "Magdalene" movie. We asked permission from the receptionist for posting the ads. She agreed. We talked to her and she asked us, "What's your religion?" After we told her she didn't want to talk to us anymore. There was also a man who said he knew me. He said that I was a hot gospeller from Constanta. I told him I was from Bucharest. He continued to accuse me of being a heretic. It was difficult but we were a testimony for God.

Nelu and Iulian - "We met a group of pilots and stewardesses. They were not interested in what we were telling them. Iulian told them how he was delivered from pornography. One of them raised his head and said: "Really? I don't think so". They started to be interested then. I realized that the only thing that drew people's attention was hearing about transformed lives."

Dina - "God is our best friend. Be sincere and tell him about your situation!" That's what I was telling to a single mother and her 11 year old daughter. The woman said: "I definitely need God." In my team there was a girl who was afraid to share the Gospel. She was saying: "Please don't make me talk." She was encouraged to see a sincere and hungry person for God. We both were encouraged."

Cristina and Irina - "We talked to four people. We had a discussion with a Christian couple. After a few moments two beautiful girls came near. We realized that the girls couldn't speak Romanian. "Do you speak English, French, Russian...?" We discovered that they were from the Ukraine. They came to a camp in Romania. I was talking in English and Irina in Russian. We shared the Gospel with them. After a while two boys came by and we stopped sharing. We will pray for the girls."

Claudia and Anca -"While we were walking on the beach I saw two couples from my village. It seemed to me that it wasn't right to speak with them about Christ, because I knew they didn't
like evangelicals. I greeted them and I wanted to leave. They asked me about our bracelets.
So I told them why we were there. God is sovereign and we talked to them about God."

Delia -"I have removed my fears. People think too much about doing good things. You have to know the elementary things about Christianity. A psalm came to my mind: "a clean heart and a new person..."
