I can say that the Lord helped us. This summer was full of evangelistic events. The church formed a team of young people who got involved in the VBS in four villages: Pucioasa, Magura, Vulcana Bai and Varfuri. It was a lot of work, but there were many joys too.
Our weekly schedule was like this:

Sunday - worship in Pucioasa and Magura - three services
Monday - administrative day
Tuesday - visits to families
Wednesday - visits to sick people in the afternoon - Bible study with the church
Thursday - preaching in the crisis center in Pucioasa in the morning, speaking in the children's program in Magura in the afternoon, and leading a prayer time with the adults in Magura in the evening
Friday - children ministry in Vulcana in the morning and orchestra rehearsal in the afternoon - basic doctrines class and choir rehearsal in the evening
Saturday - children program in Pucioasa in the morning, ministry in Varfuri and orchestra rehearsal in Pucioasa in the afternoon, and the youth program in Pucioasa in the evening.

Varfuri is the new village that we started to evangelize through a VBS. For a long time I have had a special desire to reach out to this village. There were no Christians there. One of our members works as a vet there. Through his work he has had the opportunity to be a testimony for the Lord. Therefore we thought that we should go there to seek a harvest for the Lord. The church was so happy to invest in  the ministry in Varfuri. At first we went to the local authorities. We told them about our intention of working with the children in the village, teaching them about the Lord and giving them illustrated Bibles. The vet who is a member of our church helped us with this. The authorities approved and we invited the children to the VBS. We set a tent in an opening in the center of the village. Around 30 children came. I felt that the Lord blessed the ministry beyond our expectations. Our youth made friends with the children. We have met six times already and the children continue to come. They have kept inviting new children and now we dream of a larger ministry in this village.

During the VBS many parents came too. It was the first time when we saw something like that at a VBS. Also, some people from the city hall came. The police told us that they appreciated us. This locality has five villages on a large area (5-7 kilometers). It is amazing to see children coming from long distances.

The next level of the ministry was to start visiting some families. The Lord used us through this ministry. It was like the villagers had known us. They waited for us (probably the children had told them) and were glad to hear the Gospel. For example, in Madalina's family, her father, Puiu, and her mother, Angelica, extended to us hospitably. They were glad to receive a New Testament. Her father wanted one for a long time. May the Lord touch their hearts.

Another surprise was to realize that some of the children already read their Bibles.  We gave them a New Testament too. Probably we will go through a study with them (Filip project from the Bible League). The Lord has opened a door there and we have little strength for this challenge. May the Lord have mercy on us as he did with Philadelphia, for us to keep His Word.

Although we visited just five families (we still have to visit 25 families), our joy is that the Lord
started this ministry. We believe that He will give grace. We are just waiting to see the Lord give repentance to many people in Varfuri.

As a church we noticed that the Lord touched us and brought refreshment. The church is glad to be used by the Lord, especially the youth who got involved in Varfuri. We could start a youth ministry there too. Our young people want to organize an evangelistic event and invite the youth from Varfuri. May the Lord touch them and give them repentance.

Beside the fact that we continued the ministries in Vulcana, Magura, and Pucioasa, we also started a mandolin class in Vulcana. The children are so excited.

After a longer break we will meet again with the family in Motaeni. Florin (the husband) told me that he missed our discussions about the Lord. Therefore, I showed him again his need for repentance. I want so much for the Lord to open his mind and heart!
