At the end of May we had a meeting with the students on the topic of "Preparing for Marriage". The speakers were Don and Cindy C. from HeartCry Missionary Society. Laura, a student who attended that meeting, was saved in April of 2009. She confessed, "I went to the conference session on marriage Thursday evening. After everything that I had heard there I felt like I was beaten. I walked away saying to myself that I would stick with my ideas. Who needed marriage anyway? I didn't. I just wanted to fit in the world's system for the 21st century. I went home saying to myself that I needed a carrier. I wanted to be financially independent. I asked myself, "Why did I promise Ramona to go to that meeting?". Then Friday I met with a girl. She used to attend the Fitzuica meetings, but she missed the last one. I briefly told her about the message on marriage. I shocked her. She asked me, "A lady should only cook and clean? And the man should only stay in front of the TV?" I answered, "No. They have to love one another. They have to listen to the Word of God." I couldn't believe what I was saying. I wanted to have a business, a house, a car. I continued saying, "The wife must learn from her husband." And she asked me, "Why does she have to do that? She doesn't have a brain? " I continued, "It is a wonderful thing for a wife to dedicate her entire life to a Christian husband. To submit herself under the authority of her own husband does not mean to obey blindly ." I couldn't believe what I was saying... As if I had been a completely different person... I felt like someone else was talking... I believe the Lord invited me to that meeting. He wanted to heal all my scars. Before the meeting I met a boy. I told him that I was there just because I had promised you. Now I know that the Lord has a better plan for me. I know that He is the Physician." I went to look for Andrei. He had been to the "Magdalene" movie on Easter. But in his room I met Mihai. Mihai told me, "I believe in God, but I do not go to church." Then another roommate came in, Cristi from Resita. He had an ear ring and a fancy haircut. I challenged him to have a discussion with me and he agreed. He told me, "I believe in God. I do not sin as much as others do. My conscience is bothering me, but I can't give up dating girls." I preached to him about the wrath of God against sin. I told him that Christ was his only escape. As I was talking I saw how the Holy Spirit was touching him. Then Mihai came. I shared the Gospel with him. Cristi didn't leave the room. He was touched. He was just listening to me. I felt in my spirit that God was giving me strength in preaching. Horatiu is from Buzau. His father is from Romania and his mother from Turkey. He studies Marius works in a shop. I asked him whether he had repented. He told me, "I do not want to repent. I am Orthodox and I like to smoke." I told him that the Lord Jesus had commanded us to repent of our sin. At a certain moment Bogdan came in. He was an orthodox and a driver at the same company where Marius worked. I asked him if he had repented. He asked me if I was a Jehovah's witness. I told him that I believed in the Godhead of Christ. Then I shared the Gospel with him. He told me that he thought he was a sinner. He didn't have a Bible so I gave him a New Testament. I invited him to church, but he never came. I think he doesn't come because of his girlfriend, who is a Jehovah's witness. Another day I met Nicusor. He was a driver and he is single. I asked him whether he had repented. He told me that he hadn't. He went once to an evangelical church. He loved the songs. I encouraged him to go again. I shared the Gospel with him. I gave him a New Testament and a few days later he told me that he had started to read it. The seed was sown. May God have mercy on all of them. We continued the Bible study with the families. I also ministered by preaching the Word in church. God gave me the joy to see the students coming to church. I rejoiced preaching to them the Word in church. I see how God gathers a group of students and alumni within the church. My boys are a part of this group too. One of the girls, Delia, is a student in Brasov. She is a believer and told me, "I watched Paul Washer's Shocking message on You Tube. I heard it twice. God touched my heart. I go to a charismatic church where the pastor preaches that salvation can be lost. He also preaches that attending other churches is a wrong thing. I was afraid I would loose my salvation. Then I sent an e-mail to Sorin P. and he gave me your e-mail address. It was after that that I got in touch with you to ask you wether there was a HeartCry church in Brasov. Please tell me more about the assurance of salvation." Ever since I heard Delia's request my heart had no peace. I prayed that Lord will help me preach on the assurance of salvation. In the past I was tormented myself by the same fears. Therefore I invited all the students to my home. I explained to them what the Lord had shown me and how He had convinced me of the assurance of salvation. I told them that if someone said, "I can continue to sin because salvation can't be lost." then that person was never saved. It was a time of great grace. After the meeting Delia told me, "I feel relieved." The truth made her free. Praise the Lord. She attends the church where I go and she got involved in the evangelism ministry. She also did evangelism with Don and Cindy C. in Brasov. There are so many Christians tormented by this theology that they can lose their salvation. I asked God to use me in the preaching about His sovereignty, the assurance of salvation and His grace. The students who attended Charles L.'s conference on The Law of Christ were radically changed by God through our speakers' messages. God brought a greater desire to work for the Lord, to study the Word, and freedom from the lies of the wicked one. At our first prayer meeting on the campus everyone talked about this conference. Elisei, Ramona, Alex, Ana-Maria, Delia, Ionel, Simona confessed how God set them free. Also, other ladies and men from our church said that the conference was an edifying time. We look forward to the coming of HeartCry speakers again to fulfill their calling to edify the body of Christ. May God gave them strength and faithfulness. I've already used what I learned from this conference in my sermons.
