Preaching Activity

The church in Vurpar (Burgberg), Sibiu county

I had eight sermons on April 10th, 12th, 17th and 19th. My messages were based on the passages concerning the passion, death, burial and resurrection of the Lord. Because this church had both Romanian and German members I was called to minister during the passion week and on Easter according to both orthodox and catholic calendars. I gave the Lord's Supper twice.

For the moment this church does not have a pastor. I was called by the church and appointed by the Pastors Community from Sibiu to give the Lord's Supper and to preach the Word. I am always welcomed by the members and this encourages me to continue to serve them.

"Ethos" church from Craiova, Dolj county

On April 5th I had two sermons (in the morning and in the afternoon). This church is a new church in Craiova (this city has 350,000 inhabitants). For the moment the church holds services in the building of the "Ethos" foundation. They have started the construction of a new church. Sometimes soon they will move into the new building. I have ministered in this church. While in town for a training with the Sunday School teachers I was called to preach the Word. I preached about the cry for salvation (in the morning) and about God's desire to save people (in the evening). The people from the church listened to me very carefully. I saw that they were searched by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God.

"Sion" church from Sibiu

On April 22nd I had a sermon (Bible study) with the title, "Live for Others Salvation." This church is undergoing a time of crisis. They do not have a pastor and there is faction among them. Because of that I was called to help by preaching the Word. I also lead a systematic Bible study with this church. I urge them to reconcile their differences with biblical solutions.
Although it is difficult I am encouraged to help this ministry. I see their interest in listening to the Word and understanding it.

"Bethany" church from Sibiu

I had two sermons (Bible studies) on April 9th and 23rd. I used the texts from Romans 8:1-28 and 9:1-13. The subject was the Christian's edification and dedication to God's ministry. I emphasized that a life of holiness was full of victory. The victory was the blessing of the Christians. (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 26, 3:5, 12, 21).

Didactical Activities

As a principal of the Sunday School Teachers College, I fulfilled my responsibilities. On April 4th I organized the Sunday School teachers meeting for Oltenia county. The meeting
was held in Craiova, at the Alpha and Omega Church. There were 26 teachers from 15 churches. We had the following activities on devotional time, two lessons on didactical subjects: How to Communicate the Word of God and The Phases of Biblical Learning.
I taught a demonstrative Bible lesson with the subject "The sinners' need for salvation" (John 4:1-26).

The children ministry in Oltenia is progressing. A few years ago there were many floods in that area. The churches received spiritual and financial help from the churches from the Transilvania region. Therefore the Gospel was preached and new churches were planted. Also some children ministries began. I had the joy to meet and to train the Sunday school teachers from the new churches. We plan to continue the training with these teachers. We also want to help them financially for a more efficient ministry.

Activities in the Equipping and Edification Program

I continued to study the book "A Theology of Christian Counselling" by Jay E. Adams. I made my homework for April that covered chapters 15-25, pages 265-345. Also, I posted on the forum the answer to the material read in April. I entitled my answer: "Regeneration and the Reality of Transformation". I posted also a reply.
