Praise the Lord that the recession of the jobs will not affect the Lord's servants! There is still a job for us as long as the Father works. He gives satisfaction to those who sow while it is day! Therefore the Lord blessed us to serve Him in April.
As I have already written you we started a project of spiritual and relational help. We desire to help the young people with the slightly retarded from the social center in our town. We started two weeks ago. Other members of the church and myself have weekly meetings with them. We want to show them Christian love. The center personnel work with us and give us an opportunity to practice "pure religion and undefiled before God". The last time when I was there I met a man, Dan R. He is not retarded, but only has a problem with one leg. He comes there to spend some time everyday. I told him who I was and the fact that I wanted to tell them about God. He had heard about our church. He was ready to discuss with me about the Lord. Next week I will have another meeting with him. I pray that the Lord will open his heart to His Word and agree to begin a Bible study. One day I ran into the mother of a girl who used to come to our children's program. She stopped coming because she was discouraged by her classmates. The mother asked me to encourage her to attend the program. I had a good discussion with the girl. Now she continues to come. While speaking with her mother I found out that she really desired to come to our church. But her husband wouldn't allow her to come. It is interesting that he allows his daughter to come to the children's program, but he doesn't allow his wife to come to church. Many times this woman came to us for advice. She wanted to know what the Bible said in different situations, but she was hesitant. On this occasion I found out the real motive. We pray that the Lord will have mercy on this family and will give salvation to Mrs. Camelia and her husband, Nicu. During the passion week we had the opportunity to go to hospital. We encouraged the patients and offered them New Testaments. Most of them were glad to receive a New Testament. We also met with opposition. A physician warned us not to tell people about Jesus on his ward. The physician was provoked by a nurse whose husband was a priest. But I believe that God gave us victory. Also, with the young people we went to a nursing home where we brought the message of the Resurrection through songs and a sermon. Before Easter, we distributed evangelistic booklets with the young people of the church on the streets. The people of Pucioasa received around 500 booklets. May the Lord give salvation to many of them. We also had a conference on the events of passion week. The entire church came to the conference. We and some people from Harvest Bible Church rejoiced in the Word. After Easter we visited three families and I shared the Gospel with them.
