The Evangelical churches in Romania started a wonderful evangelistic outreach called Reading the Bible National Campaign. It consists of doing a questionnaire with people on the streets or in their homes, asking them if they have a Bible and if they read it. It invites them to read the Bible in an organized manner such as in a small group in their home, a church or somebody’s home. A pastor who is involved in this campaign told us that he started a Bible-reading group in a non-Christian family and they kept inviting other people and now they are about 25 who are reading the Bible together. Amazing!

We had a prayer and Bible teaching weekend. Both the students from Brasov and Sibiu attended this time. On this occasion God put the thought on my heart of going to preach the good news to the students in the dorms with Bible teaching and prayer. There were a few students from Sibiu who had never done that before. Therefore we went with them so that we could train them. We had about 15 teams of two and about 30-35 students heard the gospel. My son, Timotei, and Darius, a student from Sibiu, and me went together. We met Bogdan, a freshman who is studying Forestry. He listened carefully. At a certain moment, the room was full, as five other students came to listen to what I was telling them.

The Lord Jesus used to take his disciples to a certain place and have fellowship with them. Most of the time that experience would turn into opportunities of service. We felt pretty much the same on May 7 - 8. These two days meant a time of edification for the students but also an opportunity to serve others. There were 24 students. Apparently, that is only a number (either small or big) but if I try to visualize their stories, this number has a new meaning.

In this past month many churches in Bucharest were involved in a project called "The National Campaign of Reading the Bible".The pastor whose church initiated this project had a wonderful testimony, which encouraged many other believers to join this outreach. Their team started reading the Bible with a non-Christian family. Then this family told the pastor, "please come back, we would like to continue reading the Bible with you", and at the next meetings these people invited their friends and neighbors, so that this group reached 25 people!

The Lord helped me this month in my spending time mostly with new converts. We made up fellowship groups in their homes. This fellowship time helps them to grow spiritually. They are offered the opportunity to ask questions in order to have a better understanding of the topics approached in the sermons.
