EVANGELISTIC ENDEAVORS We had the privilege of celebrating Christmas twice in the villages. Therefore, we used the opportunity to proclaim the Gospel to those who do not know it. On January 6th we went caroling with the youth group in Bulboaca, a large village of approximately 5000 inhabitants. We were not invited into very many homes. We have a small group of young people from there and they wanted to visit their relatives and acquaintances to share with them the Good News. The people said they had never seen and heard anything like that before. They were very grateful for the carols and their message. On January 7th we went in Speia village. Brother Sergiu S. led us through the village to different families. There were families who after we caroled said, "We want to lead you to our friends to sing to." Another person said: "You really surprised me. This is a real Christmas." We know that Christmas is much more than caroling, but we would like this to be a step towards reaching them with the Gospel. GIVING BREAD TO THE HUNGRY On January 6th we organized a Christmas meal for the old people. There were around 50 persons who had the opportunity to hear the holiday program and an evangelistic message preached by one of the leaders of our church, Vitalie P. This year we didn't have the opportunity to give each one a present, but we brightened them with a rib. From January 12 till 15 I went for teaching in a village from the north corner of the country. The class was about homiletics and hermeneutics. God blessed with about 25 brothers eager to learn how to be better preachers of God's Word. This month we chose 3 brothers for the church's council to better serve the church. This created a balance in the age span of our church's council. I organized a seminary with the theme of The Joy of Serving for the ministry brothers of our membership. There were around 40 ministers. It was mostly a study based on the life and work of John the Baptist. I began a study about families in our church with the slogan "Save the Family". It seems that the family is on the way to extinction. Lately the rate of divorces among believers is on the rise. Therefore, I began this study with the purpose of teaching our people on how to protect and preserve their family. PRAYER REQUESTS Pray for discipline in spending more time in the Word and that God will increase my hunger for Him. Pray that I would be a better evangelist. Please pray for the youth ministry, the children project and the religious service in Russian.
