During this last month of a semester full of activity, we had many sports events. Five people participated in the Anti-Trafficking program, "New Hope". The event took place at Ion Creanga High School. They had both a demonstration but also a testimony about their transformed lives. Ghena, the organizer of the event, used them as examples of young people who lived a significant life.
Another event was the local manifestation on the occasion of Sport's Day. We had a demonstration here as well, it was led by Sergiu Dascaloi.
Sixteen of our people participated in the national Championship. They received five first places, six second places and seven third places. I really liked the fact that I did not have to ask them to pray before the contest. They came to me by themselves or prayed individually. After this contest, Alic came and told me that he felt God helped him. I told him that I had prayed for him. Then Sergiu said, "I have prayed for you too". That was something I had long wanted to see in their lives, to hear them proclaiming Christ with their own mouth. I would also like them to open their eyes wide so that they could see God's blessings.
After the championship, Sergiu B.'s father expressed his appreciation regarding my work with their son. He is a psychiatrist who specializes in alcohol addictions. He once told me, "I do my best to help people out of their addictions, but you help them out of this world's addictions." There are a few more people who appreciate our efforts but not many of them see the effects the sport has on their children. But I am aware of the great things God is doing in these young people's lives.
We had an open training meeting and many parents came to see it. During this time we also talked about the summer camp and the program there. There will be one last training and then they can get ready for the camp.
All this activity showed me one thing, there are few parents who want to appreciate the good values we promote through their children. Many of them think that someone must take care of their children, as if it were an obligation. They don't realize they have to be by their children, to raise them well. Many of them let their children go with the flow. But I am glad that God has called me to work with them. It is God's grace and I am happy to be able to work with them and give their lives direction. I am a living testimony of what Christ has done for me, He has changed my life and He keeps me in his grace every day.
