We went caroling again on January 7, the old style Christmas holiday. We visited the families of the children that come to church. We were happy to take the good news to their parents and families. Some of them were actually waiting for us, while others were surprised to see us. It was a good opportunity for us to get to know the families of the children we work with. We continue to pray for them.
We no longer met with the children while they were on vacation. After vacation, we started to meet again. They seemed to be very receptive. There are fifteen kids that come to the new group that was made up in September through January. Their parents are not believers.
Madalina is a little girl that has been coming to our kids club for almost two months. She learns the Word of God and is happy to be able to come to our meetings. She also invited some of her friends. That is how her friend Corina came.
Iurie has been attending our meetings for a month. He has also come to the Sunday services and invited a friend whose name is Dima.
Ilona and Stas are brother and sister. It's been two months since they started to come. I am happy to see them memorizing the Word of God and being so excited. IThey were the ones who first invited Madalina.
This month I taught them about the ten commandments and the golden calf made by the Israelites. When telling them this story, I emphasized that God was the only and true God. We also played a game in which each of them were supposed to praise God for a few reasons. I was surprised and happy to hear special things from them. As a craft, we made a flag and glued pieces of paper on the attributes of God. They took them home and I encouraged them to continue to praise God over the days to come. It was a special time for me because we could praise God together.
I've seen God working here lately. I can see the way He arranges things. For instance, the day we talked about praising God, Lena, who was in charge of the songs, had a song that went just perfect with our topic. We never even talked about it. I realized that I get more things done when I talk to God about them rather than worrying and trying to find solutions on my own. I used to call the children whenever they skipped a program. Now I pray for them and it is such a joy to see them come back as it is an answer to my prayers.
My husband and I work with the teen group. We started to have a Bible contest on the Gospel of John. We do that so they will become familiar with the Bible. We continue to pray for them. Alina is a teenager that started to attend our meetings last month. We are happy for her and pray that God will work in her heart. We are also praying for all the teenagers to be motivated to attend the morning services. I get together with Maricica every week to have fellowship.
The group of 4 to 6 year olds continues to meet every Sunday. Veronica is in charge of this group and stays in touch with their parents.
