On December 21-22 we gave out 1000 presents. We also distributed 1000 books about the Christmas story and a greeting card on behalf of our church. We went to two schools and a kindergarten. The kids were all happy and we hope that the parents were at least challenged to read the story to their kids.
On the 24th of December we had a Christmas concert at our church. We wanted an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. After the 3 hour concert, we went downtown caroling and also had the opportunity to preach the gospel. We had a 5-10 minute message where there were several people gathered in one place.
We continued the holiday service on Sunday as well. Several people had a testimony and we all brought our gift before the Lord. All the church members brought some food and we had a meal with our visitors after the church service.
Viorel who is 19 years old is deaf and dumb. Because he is an orphan, he lives with a family that comes to our church. Not long ago we talked about the possibility of providing him with financial support since he has finished school. Three years ago while at a Christian camp he gave his life to Christ. I get together with him every week and we spend three hours together. I have trained him to work with deaf and dumb people. There is a group of 10-15 dumb/ deaf people that come to our church where Viorel leads them in a Bible study. They usually stay with us during the praise and worship time and then they go and have their own study. Viorel also goes to Chisinau once a month. They usually have a meeting with deaf and dumb Christian leaders. Every Saturday he goes to the school for these people and preaches the gospel. I have also taught him how to use the internet through which he takes an online Bible study. He is able to make power point presentations for deaf people. I lend him books that help him with the Bible study lessons. Actually, I give him my power point Bible lessons that we use in our services.
