At the end of September we had evangelistic visitations. Mariana, Lesley, a lady from the U. S. and I went to visit some people. The first person we visited was a lady whose name was Elena from the neighboring village. She is a widow who has two sons.  One of them is in jail. She attends Mariana's group of women. She was very hospitable when we went to her place as she served us tea and biscuits. She showed us pictures of her husband and family when they were young. Before we left, Mariana asked her if we could pray for her as she has a difficult situation. We also visited an older lady whose name was Liuba. She lives with her husband and 40-year old son. When we rang the bell, she didn't know what to think as she thought we were Jehovah's Witnesses. We told her we were form the church her neighbors attended and she invited us in. Lesley told her that we had brought her a care package with food. She was very happy to hear that. As we talked about God she listened carefully. Before we left she wanted to give us some milk.

Pavel, Lesley and I decided to visit one of the kids that is part of our social project. His name is Sasa and he is in the first grade. When we got to his place, we met Sasa's grandmother, Irina. His mother works in Moscow. Sasa also has a little sister but she lives with their other grandmother in another village. There were times when Sasa ran away to that village to see his sister. Irina lives in a rented place.  She could never raise two grandchildren as her house is in bad condition and very cold. Irina told us a few things about herself and then Lesley told her we had something for her. Irina was receptive to the gospel. She said it was good that her grandchild attended our church because people at our church read the bible and didn't need a priest to do it for us.

On September 29, we had a construction team from the U. S. come to our church. They spent ten days here. They put the roof on the balcony of the church. I was busy cooking for the team most of the time. By the end of the time I received a wonderful gift which I never expected.

On October 1-2, I attended a conference organized by OM. We talked about our kids' project and learned many things. The women were invited to go to Chisinau the next day for a women's conference. The subject of the conference was on how women could be useful in society. There were three ladies from the U. S. who spoke. Each of them shared about their lives and some things from the bible. Their testimonies were shocking as they all had to go through very difficult situations. When I first saw them on stage, they were all smiling and I thought, "they must be so happy". But then I heard them speak, they had all been either abandoned by parents or experienced very traumatizing things. They shared all those difficult experiences with us without being ashamed or embarrassed. I can say it's been a blessed time.

On October 3 we celebrated Harvest Day at our church.  The young people decorated the church very nicely. We had also unbelievers who came. The church service was wonderful which was then followed by a meal.

All the leaders of our church decided to have a season of prayer and fasting. During the three days we put aside other activities and focused on our time with God. It was a profitable time for us because we read other books also. I read The Praying Woman by Elizabeth Djord. I shared with the others what I had read from this book.

On October 9, Mariana and I went to another conference in Chisinau. The topic was on how to work with teenage girls.

We started our meetings with the women in October. For our first meeting I decorated the room with flowers and candles. We had little presents too.

I continued to work with the kids. Every Wednesday, we make paper crafts and learn three to four Bible verses. They are all motivated to learn as we reward them with small presents. I thank the Lord for giving us these ideas.
