God continues to work in Anenii Noi and I am glad He uses me as much as possible.
At the beginning of this month, we had a woman's conference. Since that was only for women, the men could help with other things such as shopping, work in the kitchen and other administrative work. It's been a blessed time and the ladies who attended the conference were grateful for the spiritual food offered here.
We started the activities at the Day Center again. There have been a few changes regarding the activities. I will no longer be the coordinator of this project this year as a dedicated family from our church will be in charge of it. I will be there only one day a week. This will allow me to be more involved in the evangelism ministry.
With the ladies from the States, I visited several families and told them about Christ. We were welcomed and could tell them about salvation. We also prayed before leaving. We pray that God will cause His word to bear fruit.
Regarding the visitation program, we continued to visit the family living in the neighboring village. We are happy that Dumitru has come back home after spending the entire summer working in Moscow. He told us how God helped him to quit smoking. That is quite a miracle for his family as he used to be addicted to smoking. He realizes how much money he spent on cigarettes. Dumitru has a desire to attend our church as he actually came with his wife one Wednesday night. He was very active during the Bible study and at the end as he told us that he understood everything that had been said. We were surprised to see that they had to walk back to their village. We continue to pray for this family and are happy to see God working in their hearts. Please pray for their son, Vasile, who although has prayed to receive Christ, is still having problems with alcohol and smoking. During a visit, pastor Igor suggested he should come to church and pray with him before going to work. He agreed and came every morning for two weeks. After that, he quit. I realize there is quite a spiritual fight in his soul and that's why I want to ask you to pray for him to be able to get rid of these vices and draw near to God.
I continued to prepare the weekly meeting for teenagers. Although there are not many people coming at the moment, we are working on this issue. One of the problems we came across was the parents of five of the girls who had forbidden them to come. They used to come on a regular basis. We pray that God will bless this ministry so that we can impact the lives of many teenagers in our community.
The youth ministry activity was started again. The first meeting has been a very special one, especially since we missed the fellowship. After the praise and worship time, we prayed and then read a Psalm. Then I gave each of them a Bible verse. They all read it and kept it as an encouragement for the week to come. We all sat down and had wonderful fellowship. We talked about different things and also made plans about what do for the Harvest Day at our church (the first Sunday of October). I am glad to see their desire to come to our meetings and to participate in the church activities. We had two new people coming at this meeting and did our best to make them feel a part of the group. May God be glorified by what we do here in Anenii Noi!
