luis nicola rohan_august 2009These summer months have seen Luis preaching at Kanto Plains Baptist church, the church that lends us their facilities, whilst they continue to seek a new pastor. His first teachings on three different Sundays were on seeking God's guidance, identifying false teachers, and on trials. Luis is now preparing a series for next month of October on the fall of man from Genesis and the regeneration that God works in His new creatures.

In July we held a concert called ONE, about One God, One Way and One Truth. This very simple truth that there is only one true God needs to be declared here in Japan where people believe in the equality of millions of gods. We preached it, sang it and danced it to deliver the message home!
Luis continued with the men's bible study on Thursday evening and had some guests coming, two Peruvians named Daniel and Matayoshi. The ladies have been studying on Saturday about God's holiness and His call to His children to be holy. Luis also continues to disciple a young man called Akila. Please pray that he would keep on growing in his faith and that God would continue to use him in His service.

We have been very happy to welcome new visitors to our Sunday services. Daniel is now coming regularly with his cousins Paula and Alfredo, and recently Patricia has started to come with her friend Luciana, who has also been attending regularly. Please pray for the salvation of each of these Peruvians as they hear the Gospel.

PRAYER

Apart from the petitions mentioned above, please if you could also be praying to God for these following events:

In March 2010 we are expecting our second baby to be born! We thank God so much for this new life, and are very excited. We thank Him for a healthy pregnancy so far, and please do pray for a safe delivery and that our little one could come to know Jesus as soon as possible.

In October we will hold an event called CREACION II, which is a theatre piece with music, dance and narration about creation. We had a wonderful time doing it last year and it bore quite some fruit. It involves all the family, especially young children who can act out God creating animals, all dressed up in costumes, and it has the message of God creating us. This year we will be dealing with the next half of the story which is the fall and then the salvation that Jesus offers. Please pray that we can spread the news of this event widely, that those who attend would give attention to the Gospel message and that they could learn about who God is through the Bible.

Please pray, too, for workers! We would love to have workers who would like to come for short or long term mission to help in the ministry.
