luis nicola rohan_june2009We know that the world and Satan will always attempt to make us leave sound doctrine. These previous months have been hard for us because we were being persecuted and attacked by Satan. There is a lot of joy in preaching the truth and we can see the impact of this in the life of the people but also there is a price in that Satan will attack and the flesh of the people will cause them to attack, as well. Satan attacked us from many directions: we were almost at the point of not having a place to congregate and Luis almost got physically attacked. People were angry against Heartcry, attacking Paul Washer's teaching and calling him a false prophet while also attacking Luis' teaching, too. It is not a surprise that this happens to God's children because the Bible tells us that all those who desire to live a godly life will be persecuted (2 Tim 3: 11);  so, we do ask for your prayers. We thank God that although Satan wanted to stop the truth being preached, God gave Luis more opportunities to preach the Gospel and teach the Word as he is now regularly giving the message at the church whose facilities we are using, while they seek a new pastor.

Meanwhile, with the Vida Nueva church we celebrated the fathers amongst us on Father's Day. Luis preached about their role and how their children do what they see them do and not so much what they say. Following the service we all went to the river where the fathers had the blessing of preparing a barbecue!

luis and rohan_june2009We also held a dedication service for two children, of which our son Rohan was one. We prayed for their salvation, that God would save them as soon as possible, and for their parents to fulfill the role God has given them. There was a public declaration of a decision and commitment that the parents had already made and it was an important day to record for the family. To remind them of this dedication in a small way, Vida Nueva church presented them with children's Bibles.

With the summer weather and our new garden, we have had the blessing to welcome guests to our home for meals. We have had many an important conversation one on one or in small groups with those we are sharing the Gospel with, and edifying times with brothers over lunch or supper sitting outside under the sun. These are the fruits of the weekly Bible study for Japanese ladies and the growing relationships from these times.

All the Glory for God!
