Over the past months we have been getting to know some families and making friends with them. They are Suzie and her son Kosuge, Rumi and her two daughters Shion and Aine, Megumi and her husband Takahiro and son Noriyuki, Mami, Masami and their boys, Sanae, Naoki and their daughter Miu, Michiko and Rentaro, and Yukio and Akila. We have got to know each of them through different ways and are so glad to share with them the love of Christ through friendship at our home. In Creacion, an event our church hosted, the stage was changed into the Garden of Eden and we illustrated in Japanese and Spanish the creation of the world in six days. The little kids participated by dressing up in animal costumes and "Adam" named each one of them as they appeared on stage. The kids learned in a fun and simple way that God created the world and that we are His creation and not the result of evolution from monkeys! This is an important foundation for those in Japan who have never heard the Creation story and it is one that we creatively taught for all the family to enjoy! On the weekend before Christmas, Vida Nueva held its Christmas concert on a Saturday evening and a "double breakfast" on Sunday morning. This brought together all the families and individuals we have been getting to know recently, and Luis continued to preach the Gospel message to them. We received our friends in love with a potluck dinner after the concert. The next morning we had a combined service with a spiritual (God's Word!) and physical breakfast. Each person had a secret gift partner so we exchanged gifts and the real message of Christmas.
