Last time we wrote that because of the step of obedience God was asking us to take, we were facing being without a home, without a place to congregate for the Spanish service, without a place to continue preaching and ministering the Gospel.

Now two months on praise God we can say we have a new church which is allowing us to use their facilities for a Spanish service on Sunday mornings; we are now also in the process of becoming missionaries of this church joining them in sharing the Gospel and service; we have a lovely new home, and on top of all for the first time since we have been in Japan we have some regular financial support from a missionary organisation and some churches !! God alone had done this work and to Him be the glory. When we take a stand for the truth, take a step of faith, God is the one who will then establish us and continue on His work through us.

The church we are now part of is called Kanto Plains Baptist church and is a couple of train stations along from where we used to live in Ome. We talked with the Pastor and we saw that we had the same concern for the truth of God and to see solid teaching given in churches in Japan. The pastor had also seen the need to reach out to the Latin Americans that have converged on Hamura for their work in the large factory complexes here. God had already prepared a place for the service to congregate after two months meeting in our home ! The facilities at the church meant that we could hold the service on Sunday for the first time, and on May the 25th we met at 9 am in the morning to have our first service in Spanish at KPBC. Since then we have been working on dividing responsibilities between ourselves, getting together on Saturdays to practice worship, prepare for the service and pray. On Sundays we now have a regular schedule of a service with worship and a message, followed by breakfast together. After joining the Japanese-American congregation for worship, we then join back up together for a bible study in which we are currently studying to write our Statement of Faith for the Spanish church.

Standing back for an instant we can see that this little church has given glory to God, responding with obedience leaving the little stability they had to congregate in the house of their leader, even following a leader who did not know where he would live the next month. God has prepared us as a church to leave any kind of comfort to follow His truth. This blessing has made the Latinos grow spiritually and now God is giving us all a time of rest after the battle, feeding weekly on His word to us.
