luis_edithThese last two months, Luis has weekly been visiting Edith, a Peruvian lady who has been diagnosed in the hospital with cancer. The family could not face revealing to Edith the doctors' verdict about her cancer, so they asked Luis to share it with her. It was very hard for Luis to share such bad news, but harder still to preach the Gospel to her in her circumstance. She told Luis about the physical pain, and the sadness of dying in a strange country far from her family. Only the Holy Spirit gave Luis the strength to tell this hurting lady that she was heading for hell.

At the beginning, when Luis talked about the sin of man and the grace of God, she only listened but did not understand. But as the weeks passed, Luis asked her if she was afraid to be face to face with Jesus, and with all that they had talked about she could now see her sins before God. She wanted to know what she could do, so Luis was able to tell the Gospel again and the need for repentance and belief. With her niece and Luis, she prayed for God's forgiveness and His salvation and will to be done. After three days, she passed away and her family told us that she had peace. We give glory to God that in His mercy He made a way for this Peruvian lady to hear the Gospel weeks before her death in a land where Christian Spanish speakers are so few.

The particulars of Vida Nueva's usage of our host church facilities have been at the forefront these past months. Out of this time has come the decision to further develop the formal agreement between our churches. Please join us in prayer that this be an agreement that gives glory to God and that seeks first to please Him and not the preferences of men. Please pray also for Luis as he deals with this matter on a daily basis. Please also pray, thanking God for the new pastor of our host church who will arrive in June.

new membersAfter a month of being at our church, Cesar and Ester asked to become members of Vida Nueva. Blessed be our God for growing our family, and please join us in praying that this new family would continue to grow and be conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God continues to sustain the men's and women's Bible studies, with our brothers and sisters being faithful in the study of the Word. God is growing them.

God has added one new lady to the Japanese non-believers' Bible study. Please pray for her as the group studies about the Trinity, a belief that without the Holy Spirit's help is difficult to understand, especially after they've seen that Japan's millions of gods are false. They now need to understand that God is one, but three.

All the glory to God,
from Luis, Nicola, Rohan and Lorien
