luis preaching_2Praise God for our second son Lorien's development. Just a couple of days ago we passed his actual due date almost two months after he was born and it was a real opportunity to thank God for all that He has done in strengthening Lorien. We also praise God because during this time of trial God spoke many things to us. Lorien is now home with us after more than six weeks in the hospital.

God convicted a young man, Akira, about the lack of evidence of His conversion. Together we prayed and talked for weeks. We also talked with his parents and it was hard for them to realize that their son who had been attending church for 10 years and was baptized was crying for help and for the mercy of God for salvation.

Japan is a country with work schedules designed to steal time away from the family, church, and God. We want to praise God for giving the church the strength and desire to regularly continue studying His word and praying together as a church. Cesar and Ester are in the process of joining our church. Right now we are studying with them our Statement of Faith and doctrinal principles. Please pray so God would be glorified as they join the Vida Nueva church body, and for them a continuing passion to rejoice in His truth.

These past two months we have held services once a month in Japanese, English and Spanish called "Happy Mornings!" and they will be a regular service on the last Sunday of each month. It is to these services that we especially invite non-Christian friends and people we are sharing the Gospel with. Luis has preached on the nature of our hearts without God (Ezekiel 36) and on the infallibility of the Bible.

Luis is teaching a weekly Bible study to five Japanese non-believers. This last month Luis was teaching them the differences in the past and present beliefs as written in the Quran, the Kojiki (the Shinto's religious book), the Mormon's book, the Ancient Egyptian texts, Buddhism, Catholicism etc...  Some of them are starting to get angry because they are realizing that there is one real true God, but others are confused and are coming at different times to ask more questions wanting to know the one real God.

Please pray for Luciana and Daniel. They have been coming regularly to our services at 9:00 am on Sundays for almost a year. Please ask our Lord to be merciful with them and break their hearts so they can surrender their lives to Him, repenting and believing in our Creator.

Please pray so we would never tire or stop fighting for opportunities to preach the Gospel. We do not want our speech to be dark without the light that comes from the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. Please pray, giving praises to God for the family He has given us. He is such a good Father and Master and only He can produce and fill our hearts with gratitude and real joy for His precious works and gifts.

All the glory to God,

from Luis and Nicola
