I want to give thanks to the Lord for continued grace and help in Bangladesh through your love and prayers. I have three things to share.
First, I went to visit a young man at his youth hostel / college downtown. I met him before and sensed a real humility and Christ-centeredness about him. There I also met his close friend who is also trusting in Christ. They thanked me over and over again for coming all the way downtown and sharing with them from the Scriptures. They expressed a real lack of help in understanding the Scriptures and asked if I would teach in their church every week, which upon refusing, then asked if I would come once a month to their hostel (which I may). As we sat in their room there were others gathered around listening whom upon questioning were obviously lost. Nevertheless they were interested and it was a great time of proclaiming Christ. May God give grace and wisdom. I give thanks for this bible study. Lord willing, I will go again soon.
Secondly, God brought a middle aged business man right to my door. He was from an SDA background, frustrated, and looking for help as he had learned I was a missionary. After meeting for a few days in a row, answering question after question, it was obvious God was helping him and opening his eyes to see freedom in Christ from the law and many other false teachings from his upbringing. The Lord was really giving help in this time. He said repeatedly, "You have opened my eyes." He invited me to his house to share with his wife whom he was eager to have learn the same liberties and truth. While sharing my testimony at the dinner table she interrupted saying, "I don't think I have that." After dinner sharing from the scriptures she really opened up and said she was afraid of coming to God in a real way and knows what she had in the past is not real. I encouraged her that those who seek find. This is a real open door. Praise God for this. I plan to continue visiting them, and pray that salvation will truly visit this household.
Finally, God let me preach the gospel one night to 15 visiting youth from the Netherlands. They were young high school age mission trip type youth who desperately needed the true gospel. I preached on the new birth, and their Dutch guardians/leaders came up afterwards thanking me heartily saying I was sent of God, and had a needed message for the youth. They conveyed that many are unsaved and needed this exact message. God gave real clarity that night and I felt a love for them. They are gone now, so I commit it to God as I will probably never see them again.
Keep praying dearly beloved. I need wisdom for the next steps.
Thankful for the blood of Christ, Faithful is He who called us,
John
