After receiving training at a Bible institute, Sib returned to his native village in East Midnapore to work among the Bengalis. They are the largest unreached people group in the world. He is very humble, dedicated, has a good working knowledge of the Bible.

Testimony

My name is Sib Sankar Mahakal from West Bengal, India. I was born and brought up in a Hindu family. Before my conversion to Christianity, I never believed that there is a God in this world. I used to have fun a lot with my Hindu friends. Most of the time I spent with them was unnecessary. But, I did not have any peace in my life.

One day, one of the evangelists came to my house. My parents were already Christians. He used to come and have worship with them every week. He used to call me to sit with them but I never listened. But one day when I was inside my room, the evangelist came and shared about sin and salvation. He shared that because of sin, Jesus Christ came to this world, died on the cross and on the third day He rose again. The Bible says that all men are sinners and the wages of sin is death. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. Otherwise there is no way to go to heaven or have eternal life. Those words really touched my heart. I realized that I was a wretched sinner. Tears came down and I confessed all my sins before the Lord. I accepted Him as my personal savior from that very moment. After that I took baptism in the month of July 1994.

After I accepted Jesus as my personal savior, I got joy and peace in my life because I knew that I have eternal life in heaven with Jesus. Now I did not follow my worldly friends who gave me wrong advice. But, now Jesus is always with me. He guides me all the way in my life. Now I believe no one can snatch me from Jesus’ hand because through His grace I have been saved (John 10:28).

After I accepted Jesus as my personal savior, I read the Bible everyday, prayed to my Lord regularly because I am eager to know more about Jesus and the way of life. His word is light for my path. I attend every Sunday worship service and have fellowship with other believers. Doing all these things give me peace of mind in my life.

Whenever I pray for anything to Jesus, He answers my prayer. It increases my faith, helps me to grow spiritually day-by-day. Through reading the Holy word and meditating upon it, I got many blessings that I cannot understand. I feel His presence every moment in my life. When I fall down spiritually, He picks me up; every time He is with me. After receiving Him, many great changes took place in my life that I never thought before. Likewise day-by-day I am growing and receiving because of these blessings in my life.

I know and strongly believe that God called me because of His words in John 15:16, “You did not choose me but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. He called me as His ambassador, He chose me before the creation of the world to be a witness for Him and to proclaim good news to unbelievers because the harvest is plentiful but workers are few. As His disciple I proclaim the good news to unbelievers. From the beginning when I started to work in this ministry, from that time onward till today, I face many difficulties and discouragements but God is helping me, using me and leading me in a mighty way. He has chosen and called me to be His witness. Therefore I know for sure that He has called me for His ministry. And to the end of my life I will serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
