We are fine in Kisumu. The Lord has remembered us with some showers of rain after a long time of very hot dry weather. Some parts of the country are going totally without food.

The ministry has seen a lot of progress. This month we have concentrated on preparing members for the new leadership election that has been scheduled for 1st March. Sunday morning Bible studies have zeroed in on leadership. We trust that the Lord will again bless us with able men to see us grow to the next level. Right now we are in the process of nominations for both elders and deacons. Of course the new elders will work with me as the deacons labor on practical matters. Members have shown great interest on our church evangelist Paul O. to come on to the eldership. He has just finished his 3 years theological training in Nairobi.

Yesterday (Sunday 1-2-08) the church held interviews for three people who have applied for membership, Nila my daughter being one of them. They had credible testimonies but final results will be known this coming Sunday. We have also arranged for their baptism and acceptance into membership on 1st March alongside voting in new leaders. 1st March will therefore be a very busy Sunday for us. We plan to have lunch together as a church same day. We will cherish your prayers.

I have been preaching through the book of Daniel and next Sunday I will be on Chapter 6. What a book it is! God's patience, sovereignty, love for his people, etc., is all there in Daniel! Pray that the preaching will move our hearts to love God more and more.

I have been to Maseno University twice this month with the group ever so promising and lively in the discussions. Normally I steer the Bible study to look at the subject of salvation. Last Friday we looked at assurance in salvation. Many of the students are not saved. We had two new faces join us on Friday, one of them being my cousin. Please pray for their souls.

Fund raising activities are still going on to enable us to move to our new land and we trust in the Lord to boost the kitty soon. Our target is to move at least by May.

Sam.
