Dear friends.
First, I would like to thank you for your prayers to God on our behalf. We have seen God working, as we together lift up our heads to Him. On October 20th we had a successful ‘dine and listen' as planned. The attendance was good, and I preached to them after having some light games and very delicious food. I preached from Romans 4:4-5 ("God who justifies the wicked") and they listened keenly. Continue praying that the word of God preached will not return to Him void. We have arranged for a similiar "dine and listen" at Maseno University on Saturday the 14th, and invitation cards have been sent out. This will be held in the evening from 5pm-8pm. Pray for attendance and conversions. On the same day, our brethren in Eldoret, where brother Naphtally is pastoring, will be observing their first anniversary since the church was constituted. Some of our members will represent us at this function, while I will lead the team at the university. The church ladies will also be having their monthly fellowship at this time. We have arranged a number of events before the year ends. We trust God for the salvation of souls through these events. We have planned a Youth rally Dec. 7th-11. Elder Paul is leading us in this. On the December 14th, we will host Sunday school age children for Vacational Bible Club for 3 days. Many children from our estate where the church is do attend and end up becoming part of Sunday school. Pray for continued success in this endeavor, and that the children will not only enjoy the juice and biscuits served but begin to appreciate the Gospel of Christ Jesus. While Paul is preaching through the life of Joseph from Exodus, I have started a series on Ephesians. Pray that the word of God will bear fruit in our congregation. Many are very unmoved and it feels like ploughing a rocky ground, but we trust in God to accomplish what he has purposed for us in this exercise.By the time you get this mail, we will be in Nakuru, which is Kenya's 4th largest city. We will be discussing and praying with brethren from Nairobi and Eldoret regarding the future of reformed work in Kenya. This is our quarterly meeting--please pray with us regarding this. Nakuru is highly cosmopolitan and we have a great desire to see a reformed work start (although at this time laborers are not there). On family matters, we are glad to report that our last born Nila (14 years) is writing her primary school level exam which allows her to proceed to secondary school. This has direct effect on our pocket in the consequent years, but the Lord has always been faithful in providing. Sam and Melly
