GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, ZOMBA, MALAWI
SECOND ACTIVITY REPORT FOR MARCH 2009
By Percy C.

Monday, March 09:
Mr. and Mrs. Matola were regular attendees at our worship services on the Lord’s day for over a year until November last year when they moved 20 Km out of town. For some reason they felt restrained from applying for church membership. They are both teachers, secondary school and primary school respectively. Mr. Matola found a new job at Domasi Secondary School, a CCAP Mission school. His wife was also given transfer to a near by primary school. Mr Matola has been coming from time to time to attend services since they moved to Domasi. They were very happy for my wife and I to visit them. Mr Matola shared that the school authorities have been involving him in preaching at their chapel most Lord’s Days since he joined the staff. He also expressed great appreciation for what he learnt from Grace Baptist Church, that it was helping him in his preaching engagements at the school. He now wishes to become a “Reformed Baptist Minister” and was enquiring whether there was no training part time or by correspondence in Reformed Baptist circles. Pray for me for wisdom to guide this man who has truly come to appreciate the reformed faith.

Friday, March 13:
Mr. and Mrs. Mbewe are an encouraging couple. They never miss meetings and are punctual at both Lord’s Day and midweek gatherings. During our visitation with Victor, they informed us of how they each try to maintain a regular personal devotion. They have each developed a disciplined habit of reading systematically through both Testaments without neglecting the daily family worship.  They both say that they derive much benefit from the ministry of the word at the church. They have also found that the new Bible classes for different age groups have helped their three children to develop interest in the word of God and to participate in family devotions.  They also try to witness to friends and neighbors when ever they have opportunity and they seek to grow in their understanding of biblical truth so that they may become effective in sharing their faith. Join us in praying for them to that effect.

Saturday, March 14:
Victor and I visited Mr. and Mrs. Mandevu this afternoon. They maintain regular family devotions, and they have found the Bible classes at church to have a positive influence on their children’s interest in the family devotions. Mr. Mandevu expressed great appreciation for the systematic expositions in the Gospel of Matthew on the Lord’s day. They both admitted to be rather irregular in their personal devotions, and weak in witnessing. They request prayers for diligence in personal reading of the Scriptures and for evangelistic zeal.

Sunday, March 15:
Mr. and Mrs. Mukupira are quite regular at church but they have not made any profession of faith. Visiting them this evening revealed that they have not come to a clear understanding of the Gospel as yet. They need more prayer that God may make them see the truth.

Saturday, March 21:
I wound up my visits to Mr. Mughandira this afternoon by encouraging him to pray and to commit his life to Christ when he is by himself. He promised to come to church tomorrow since he will not be working. I am not sure that he has fully grasped the Gospel. He also is in need of much prayer for conversion.
