GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH, ZOMBA MALWI
FIRST ACTIVITY REPORT FOR JULY 2009

By Percy C.

Thursday, June 25
I attended the funeral of my landlord's father which took place at his village in Chilazulu, which is about 70 Km from Zomba. My landlord lives in open sin in drunkenness and sexual immorality. I have shared the Gospel with him several times and he has even attended our worship services on a few occasions. His late father had been a member of the Sadzi CCAP congregation in Zomba. The pastor of his church described the late man as a committed Christian who had used his own money to buy all the chairs that were used in the church, and exhorted other people who had money to emulate his example. To my amazement the pastor went further to refer to my landlord also as a good Christian who faithfully attended the same church. It grieved my heart to hear how a pastor can make it hard for poor needy souls to endure the sound of the gospel.

I had a blessed early afternoon with Mr K. His face beamed with joy as he related to me how he had finally yielded his life to Christ. This is the wonderful news we have prayed and waited for for many months. I have been having weekly Bible studies with him for some time now and the Lord has been graciously working in his heart. To God be all the glory. Pray with us for his spiritual growth.

In the afternoon Victor and I went to minister to the young women's group but we found them not organized. We, however, had opportunity to distribute tracts and to witness to two women at their homes. They seemed keen to hear the Gospel and promised to come to attend our worship service on Sunday. However, they did not come. Our prayer is that the young women's group may reorganize so that we may have a regular ministry to them again.
