REPORT FROM BEREAN REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCHBI- WEEKLY UPDATES FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2008 - WEEK 1 & 21. Church Meetings • The attendance on Sundays continues to oscillate between 30 and 50. • The preaching on the Sundays of 9th and 16th were taken by Brothers Situmbeko K. and Ray M. (church elder) from our mother church, Central Baptist Church (CBC) of Chingola. 2. Weekly Bible Study • Brothers Walubita M. and Shadreck K. shared on the 5th and 12th of November respectively. • The above two are among the other brothers in church who are being trained in leadership. Please remember them in your prayers. 3. Baptism Class The baptism class candidates have been reduced from twelve to seven and the following are the names that are remaining; Mr. S., Ngoma, Hilda, Fostina, Gertrude, Misozi, and Gift. 4. Women Fellowship • The ladies in our church have decided to strengthen the pastoral visitations by beginning to make visitations among themselves and on new comers at church. • On the 8th of November our women attended the Copperbelt Women's Rally that was held this year at CBC in Chingola. Mrs. Margaret Sakala was one of the main speakers. 5. Prayer and Thanksgiving items • Continue to pray for Pastor Sakala who is still on leave. However, from the 10th to the 14th of November he attended college at the Copperbelt Ministerial College (CMC). • Lawrence‘s health continues to deteriorate, he will indeed value your continued prayers and support. • Sister Regina M. was visited on the 9th of November by pastor and his wife and this was after she came back from attending the funeral of her young sister who passed away. • Brian M. is already in Botswana where he is expected to start working soon and thus settle with his family. We intend to connect him to our sister church there. • Continue to remember Brother Andrew M. in your daily prayers as he just underwent a painful divorce from his wife. He is slowly recovering and learning to become both a father and a mother to his three young children. • In the absence of Brother Andrew in the pulpit our own Brother Richard Manga has been interpreting for preachers on Sundays. We are pleased with his newfound gift. • The following teenagers in church sat for the final grade twelve secondary school examinations and will value your prayers as they await the results next year: Taonga S. (pastor's first born daughter), Violet N. (the Manga's adopted daughter), Honet C., and Thomas S.. "Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you" (2 Thess.3: 1) Emmanuel S. Church Planting Pastor ÂÂ
