REPORT FROM SINDA REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH09/01/08 PRAYER REQUESTS FOR PERIOD 24 DEC 2007 - 9 JAN 2008 The church at Sinda is greeting all the brethren laboring in prayer for us. God is blessing us by supplying all needs. The hunger situation in Sinda District is very bad; many people are going without food for days. The situation is so bad some people are now digging wild roots for food. We are now only looking to the government for relief food. Some of our church members are affected. Please pray for the people here that God may provide the means to have food. The church is still standing, though facing a lot of challenges as a result. 1. CHURCH 2. WOMEN MINISTRY: This was formally started on 24/01/07. Ministry leaders have been chosen from among women members to run the ministry. I was invited to give a word of encouragement. The theme of my message was, "A Biblical Woman". The meeting to launch the ministry took us the whole day. Pray for the ministry to be Bible-based. 3. FUNERAL: On 4 December 2007 I was asked by the village headman to preach at some funeral in a nearby village. I preached from Isaiah 1V 2-4. After burial some people wanted to know which Baptist Church I belonged to. 4. RUTH M.: She is our church member. On 26 December 2007 she visited the Pastor's home around 21:00hrs. She came to complain about her husband who has been unfaithful to her. Pray for her and the husband. 5. OUTREACH: I am still sharing the Word of God with those names I have been mentioning in my reports. A few have refused me to witness to them. 6. SUNAKO M.: This man is the ward councilor in our area and is a polygamist. He called me because he wanted to know who reformed Baptists are, and also he wanted to know where will be the kingdom of God. I took advantage of our discussion and shared the gospel to this man. We read John 14 v2-4 and 1Thess 4 vs 13-17. 7. PETROL Z.: Came to our home around 08:00hrs on 24 December 2007, when I was about to start preparing my sermon notes. He is a polygamist as well, and has been a Roman Catholic since his childhood. But he has been visiting our church for five months now. He wanted to know why reformed Baptists do not allow children to be baptized, and also why they don't allow women to preach. I explained to him that the Bible allows only those that are genuinely born again to be baptized and concerning why women should not preach before a church congregation I took him to 1Tim 2 vs 10-13.
