REPORT FROM PETAUKE GRACE REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH

24th September, 2008

Dear Brethren,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I trust that the Lord has been gracious to you. This e-mail is the complete report of which part has already been given to you the text messages sent to Pastor Kamanga and Brother W.B.Siame before 12:00hrs today. This was necessitated by the erratic power supply at the internet centre.

The last fortnight was a busy one. I was going through the congregants homes to gauge their spiritual stand and gather some concerns about the church that they might have. These visits shall be completed on Thursday 25.09.08. I also visited the council to check on the church plot. The situation is that the council is yet to designate plots for churches because all church plots are exhausted. I was promised that come November 2008 an area for churches will have been chosen. We need your prayers, that as the time comes they will not be hitch for us to acquire one.

The Church Leaders meeting at the DC offices went well during the fortnight. We`re studying from the book of 1 Timothy 3 (about the leader and his qualifications). All the four leaders were in attendance D.G.T., Biseck M., Mark B. and myself. In the subsequent meeting we are planning to invite some officers as this happens after 17hrs. This shall equally be used as a tool of evangelism.

Brother Biseck M. and his wife fell sick last Wednesday, suffering from malaria. They have both recovered. However, they are still weak.

From the beginning of the year the church leadership made a deliberate move that the Pilgrims Bible Notes should not be sold to the congregants but given in order to encourage them to read Christians material. I am glad to inform you that now all the 12 books are taken immediately when they arrive, and I have made a system of asking questions concerning the notes from the people who get the books. This is encouraging them to read.

Prayer Items

1.Pray for the success quarterly church meeting on 27.09.08

2.Continue praying for the church plot that the council will consider quickly giving us the plot.

3.Pray for a complete recovery of brother mbewe and his wife.

4.Pray for the church leadership that the Lord will give us more grace to lead his church in a God fearing manner.
