FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH
BI- WEEKLY REPORT
FROM 24TH SEPT TO 6TH OCT, 2010.

Dear Brethren,

We are very happy to have yet another time of informing you of what the Lord is doing at Faith Baptist Church.   It is very encouraging to know that brethren like you are praying for us in every sphere of life.  Things are not always fine in the ministry.  As a result, we live by your fervent prayers.  The following is what needs much prayer.

PRAISE AND PRAYER ITEMS

Childrens ministry:  we had a successful children's evangelistic party on the 25th September, 2010.  The ministry was targeting 50 to 80 children to be in attendance.  However, we managed to recieve 35 children from both our neighborhood.   We recieved 15 kids who promised to come to our church.  Pray for us and the kids who attended the party that the  Lord might lay a burden upon thier hearts to be thirsty for righteousness.

Couples Ministry:   As you know our church has not yet commenced with this ministry.  We have never had a meeting to plan how it will  function.  However, last month on the day we had our baptism service, a couple from Chisomo Baptist came to Faith Baptist Church to do some evangelism.  They came specifically to evangelize couples.  It was very encouraging to see Mr. and Mrs. Z. in our area.  How  we wish that many more brethren thought of us in this regard.   Elder M. from Chisomo Baptist also came to Faith to do some outreach work.  This really encouraged me.  Pray for us in all our evangelistic efforts that the Lord might grant us fruit.

Church Attendance:   Again we are pleased to inform you that we received 11 visitors in September.  Some of them we have already visited, and they seem to be deciding whether or not to begin attending our church. Some, of course, were just visiting from other places. Others we are begining to see them from time to time.  Our prayer is to see people settling down in our ministry as the Lord graciously saves them and they begin to grow spiritually.  That is our reason for being here.  So please remember us in your prayers regarding our church growth.

Church Serminar:  On the 24th October, we will be having a "Heroes Of Faith Serminar".  As our church is getting roots in the area, and since more that ten have been saved and baptized,  it will be prudent for us to look at the life of the Puritans.  This serminar will be the first one of its kind since inception of this church.    Our members need to learn how to cherish the Scriptures and live by them like the Puritans did.  There is no better example I have come across than the Puritans.  Although they had some extremes, surely we have alot to learn from them.  Pray for the Lord's blessings during the seminar.

Personal Item:  I can't believe that time has passed so quickly.  Only two months remain in this year, and I seem to be running low on steam.  So much as happened so far this year and we thank God for them all.  Now, it is time for me to go on leave.  Pray for me as I start my leave on the 15th October and return next month on the 20th November.  So much has happened in the family and surely I must attend to them during my free time.  Please, pray for me as I do my rounds during my leave and that I should return with energy for God's work.

Remember, whenever you pick up a banana for dessert, pray for the C.'s laboring in Kabanana.   Amen!!

Your Servant in God's Vineyard,
Curtis C., Missionary Pastor
