FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH FIRST WEEK OF JUNE, 2010 FROM 20Th MAY TO 4TH JUNE
Dear Brethren,
We are very happy to have yet another opportunity of sharing with you what the Lord is doing among us. We always appreciate your time with the Lord in prayer, especially when we know that you are praying for us. Do not grow weary in approaching the throne of God, for it is the power of him that causes each one of us to live. In the past two weeks the Lord God Almighty has been gracious to us in many ways. The following was his undertakings among us:
We had a wonderful Sunday services the past two weeks. The Lord sent our way a number of people we have been evangelizing. The attendance was above 40 the past two weeks. 40 people at our church is alot. Please, keep praying for us to continue receiving visitors as well as our attendees that we may all be strong in the faith. It was just last month I was informing you of how the attendance was very low and how we were discouraged because our efforts were mounting to zero. But through your prayers, our prayers, and the hard work of missions, we can see the hand of God in the work at Faith Baptist church.
We also noticed that the youths have improved. Hence, most of their activities have resumed. We have been looking for ways of encouraging them. We talked to them on several occasions, but it did not change a thing. We started our baptism class last Sunday and 3 youths have since registered their names. So far, in the past two Sundays. we've had almost half of our church attendance be youths. So please, pray for the youths of Faith Baptist church. Pray that they may have spiritual growth and that God alone should settle them.
We are also happy to inform you that our two new converts registered for baptismal class after completing their discipling lessons. You will do well to remember Mr. Victor L. and Gertrude. They have been very consistent since they got saved. It is clear that they are enjoying fellowship at Faith Baptist and our prayer is for them to continue in the faith. Of course, we do have some who are not doing well spiritually. You will do well to pray for those in our church with spiritual problems. I won’t give you their names but just pray as the Lord may lead you.
Please, do not stop praying for us concerning the church building project. So far we have not done anything at the church plot. Our prayer is that by August we will be able to put a foundation box. However, we do not have money to do such a thing. We do not need a lot of money for the foundation. We are trusting God for only 5,000,000 kwacha to get started. Next week, we will be putting the billboard with our church inscription at the church plot. We do have money for that work.
Preaching from the gospels has been encouraging to me. We have been looking at the phrases the Lord uses to draw his people to himself and, of course, what he demands from the world. We have all appreciated the passion the lord has for lost souls in his plan of redemption. Pray for me as I deliver week after week to God’s people of Kabanana.
Pray also for the women's ministry to be active. Also pray for the new Hope ministry which is focused in helping our members who are less privileged. In the recent past, we helped some orphans within our church with a few things towards their school requirements. Our hope is to help them appreciate the love of God through our church.
Remember, whenever you pick up a banana, pray for the C.’s laboring in Kabanana.
Yours truly,
Curtis C., Missionary Pastor Faith Baptist Church
