PREACHING

Jonathan has consistently committed himself to a faithful exposition of God's word during his last 3 years at Chachacha. This has largely involved going through various books of the Bible. Additionally, once every month a guest service is held which is specifically evangelistic. Once in a while he has also undertaken to handle certain topical issues. For example, he broke off from a series in Hosea to teach on tithing. One feature worth noticing is his ability to preach in English and Bemba at the same time with great proficiency. This is to cater to some from the community who are very conversant with English. This has been very well received and has contributed to increased attendance during the Sunday morning service.

EVANGELISM

Apart from the once-a-month guest services, each year an organized time of evangelistic meetings are held. Last year, however, this was done in home groups. A series of evangelistic bible studies we held which spanned 10 weeks. Non-christian friends and neighbors were invited to this time. Regular follow-ups are also undertaken with visitors.

MINISTRIES

The church has various ministries such as house groups, men’s fellowship, women's fellowship and the youth group. Notable among these is the men’s fellowship, which has been active in organizing evangelistic activities that have proved very effective. The group has also recently partnered with some sister churches in a ministry to the prisons.

CHURCH GROWTH

When Jonathan came to Chachacha the attendance at the Sunday morning service was between 60 and 70 but now is well above a 100. Membership has also correspondingly increased with some coming to the faith. Growth is also evident in two house groups. One was initially struggling but is now very consistent. Another has grown to well over 20 members and is therefore earmarked for splitting into a second group.
