FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH
BI-WEEKLY REPORT
FROM 28TH JAN TO 10TH FEB, 2010.

Dear Brethren,

It’s good to be back at the station after a week of mission's retreat and a conference at Kabwata Baptist Church. I can say, it was a good time for interaction with the members, both old and new.  As you may know, missionaries only have one activity of that kind in the whole year. I hope, upon hearing our presentations at the conference, the Lord will keep reminding you of our various needs as you pray for us every other week.  Here are the prayer items from 28th January to 10th February.

Brethren, I write with great sorrow in my heart over the prayer item of Kelly M. You'll remember that I used to persuade you from time to time to remember in your prayers his salvation and illness.  While I was at the pastor’s retreat last week, I received Mrs. M.’s text message that Kelly, her husband, was taken to the hospital after vomiting blood and that I needed to pray for him.  When the conference was over on Monday, 1st February, my wife, one of our converts and I visited the M.’s and found Kelly’s condition much better.  Three days later, on the 4th February, my wife went by the M.’s house to see how he was doing. In the presence of Fanny my wife, Kelly was chocked while coughing, in the process he vomited blood and died. The body was then rushed to UTH hospital were the doctor certified him dead.  The following day, 5th February, the body was taken to Kabwe were he was buried on Sunday 7th February.  To us, he died without the Lord. What is most painful is that is that he took our evangelistic efforts so lightly. Ruth is a regular attendee of our church who was saved and baptized in our ministry only lady last year. Ruth M., now a widow, will need your prayers as her life now enters into another phase.  Kelly has left behind a wife and a two-year-old daughter, Mutinta.

Thank God with us, for sending two families to join us at Faith Baptist church. These are Miss Esnart M. and family, and her sister Mumba M. and family.  They are coming from a Southern Baptist church within our area, and they seeking a true bible believing Baptist church.  The Baptist church which happens to be the oldest church in our area has gone through difficulties. It has no pastor and is led by deacons. It is baptist-pentecostal-charismatic in nature, and it has undergone many splits. True Baptists in practice wonder what it is. Anyway, remember the M.’s in your prayers that they may find their feet at Faith Baptist church.  We know that it is the Lord who has sent them to Faith Baptist Church.  Pray for many more in the same situation to find a true bible believing church.

We have involved our converts in carrying out some tasks in various areas of our church life.
We hope this year many will take up the challenge.  The men of our church seem to be doing well so far with the few assignments we have giving them from time to time.  It is only the youths who seem to be unpredictable; today they are in good standing, the next day they are no where to be seen.  They will need your prayers for them to settle down.  The number of women has increased.  Join us in prayer for them to focus on their programs outlined for this year.

Remember to put the entire Faith Baptist Church in your prayers,
especially for church growth both spiritually and numerically.  Every time you pick up a banana, remember in your prayers the C.’s laboring in Ka–banana, Lusaka.

Yours truly,
Curtis C.
Faith Baptist Church, Pastor.
