FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH BI-WEEKLY REPORT FROM 2ND TO 16TH DECEMBER, 2009. Dear Brethren, We are always thankful to the Lord for His undertaking on our behalf. The work has not been very well the past two weeks. We thank God for the rains in that next year we will have enough food as a nation. However, the rains make it hard for ministry work. The coming of the rains does not allow us to make as many calls as we do in hot and cold seasons. New ministry demands consistency in follow-ups and evangelism. You have to go around to remind people for church service on Fridays and Saturdays. Failure to that will lead to a low attendance on Sundays. And no one wants to preach to very few people. We need your prayers in these matters. The following is what the Lord has been doing in our ministry. Prayer and Praise Items We are very happy to see some of the things we have been teaching being put to good use. Two Sundays ago we saw one of our regular attendees, Mr. Bernard H., inviting his friend for church worship service (Mr. P.) His friend also came last Sunday. Pray for him - he is not a believer and has been living a worldly life. He is married and our prayer is to win the entire family to the Lord. Last month our youths were preparing for the concert which took place at Kabwata Baptist Church on the 5th of December, 2009. While my wife conducted choir practice at our house, five youths from our neighborhood joined. We allowed them to attend the concert since then they started coming to our church. We sent 15 youths to the concert. Among them 3 were new. Pray that these who joined us might find our church a place to be for spiritual growth and encouragement. Our Christmas evangelistic service will be held on the 25th December, and we will be sending out 100 invitations to our community. We are hoping to see a good number of people which have been invited by our attendees. Pray for us that this meeting might meet its intended purpose of salvation for lost souls. We will have some food together after the service as we get to know our visitors. The coming of the rains came with some challenges. We have people who are not feeling very well. Pray for Me (Pastor Curtis C.) - I have had some colds and a headache since Sunday. You will do well to remember me in your prayers. Mr. Kelly M., the husband of one of our attendees (Ruth), has been out of the hospital for a month now. Please continue to remember him in your prayers. His condition is slowly improving. Our prayer is for Kelly to be saved so that he can join us to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Please, continue praying for our men folk and their wives at Faith Baptist Church. Three of them still do not have their wives coming to our church and yet the men seem to be committed to the church. Mrs. H. made some efforts by coming two weeks ago for Thursday prayer meeting and Sunday worship service. Pray for her to make up her mind. Her coming would probably help the other wives to commit themselves also. Remember us in your prayers in all the ministries. The children's attendance went down some few weeks ago. Meanwhile, the youths seem to be a vibrant ministry. The women's ministry needs more prayers, especially prayers to establish and settle them. Pulpit ministry is the centre of the all work at Faith Baptist. You will do well to plead with us and for us in prayers to God for salvation of souls and that the Devil should not have any thing to do with this sacred church of the living God. Pray for our church to grow both spiritually and numerically. Remember, to pray for us at Faith Baptist Church in any way the Lord leads. When you pick up a banana for desert, remember that the C.'s are laboring in Kabanana, Lusaka. Yours truly, Curtis C.
