Dear Brethren,

I know it was surprising for you not to receive my last bi-weekly report. This is because I took a one month ordinary leave from 15th October to 18th November, 2009. As a result I was unable to send a report. I hope you kept remembering us and the church in your prayers. The Lord was surely with us as a family and also with Faith Baptist Church. The following is how the Lord undertook for the church in the period indicated above.

Preaching and Bible Study

Sundays
I am pleased to let you know that my absence was well covered. Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to thank God for everyone who assisted in the Lord's work during my leave.

The first two Sundays were handled by my brother Pastor Lichawa T., who is the pastor of Chisomo Baptist church in Matero, Lusaka. He did both the bible study and preaching on the following dates, 18th and 25th of October, 2009. We thank God for using him to encourage Faith Baptist Church. Since we started this church, Chisomo Baptist Church has been a blessing to us, as you know Faith Baptist is a small and new a congregation. We do not cease to thank them (Chisomo Baptist), because up to now they are still sending one person every Sunday to help us in leading songs during worship.

The Sunday on the 1st November, was handled by me. As you know, a pastor is never on leave. As long as you are at the mission station, you will keep doing your usual rounds of preaching and teaching, evangelism and visitation. This is exactly what happened. However, I managed to attend to personal matters.

We again had another preacher from Chisomo Baptist Church, Elder Edwin M. He shared the gospel with the church on the 8th November. He did both the bible study and preaching on this Lord's Day.

Last Sunday the 15th November, we had Elder Chikondi P. from Lusaka Baptist Church, who shared the word of God with us. We thank God for his powerful ministry. He also did the bible study while we allowed his wife to teach the children Sunday school alongside my wife (Fanny C.).

So, please thank God with us for undertaking for us in our church the past four weeks. The Lord was really gracious to his church. Continue praying for us at Faith Baptist Church.

Thursdays
The Thursday bible study that alternates with prayer meetings was divided by the three men I am working with at Faith Baptist Church. I used this opportunity to weigh their spiritual growth. At least I have an idea of how I can help our men after listening to their bible study presentations. Pray for us as we lead God's people in every church ministry and also as I train these men how to lead godly lives. Their names are Ben H., Ben M. and Bonaventure L. By the way, keep praying for their wives, until now they have not yet found their way in our church.

Prayer and Praise Items

  1. Pray for our youth group, we have lost some along the way and we have also gained new faces. Our youth group embarks on evangelism every Saturday instead of having bible study.
  2. Pray for church growth at Faith Baptist Church.
  3. Pray for the preaching of God's word every Sunday and bible studies on both Sundays and Thursdays.
  4. Pray for our member Ruth M. who has been nursing her husband in the hospital the past five months. They are now out. Upon coming out of the hospital, she is facing a separation from seeing her husband who is being kept by the husband's relatives. Pray that God will see her through these confusing issues.
  5. We have some new visitors visiting us every Sunday; you will do well to pray for them.

Remember to pray for the C.'s labouring in Kabanana, every time you pick up a banana for a sweet course.

Yours in Christ's Service,

Curtis C.
