PETAUKE GRACE REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH

Dear Brethren,

It is once again a pleasure to write to you, in order to inform you of what the Lord has enabled me do during the last fortnight. After the departure of Sister Nissi T. for Lusaka, I have temporarily assumed her work with women convicts at Petauke prison. For the last two Fridays, I went through a study of the fall of man. I did this in order to show them that their being in prison is no surprise, but is due to the fall of man. Their response was sorrowful. Some shed tears. I plan to continue with this programme until another sister is ready to take up the challenge. During this time, I have also been able to fullfill all my preaching and teaching engangements at church, as well as home bible study, and prayer meetings on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I would also like to inform you about the latest developments in Katete. A house was found and rented for three months. Yesterday I travelled to Chipata to see Brother Gershom N. He is a potential missionary who is ready to take up the work in Katete immediately. On my way back, he gave me some things to take to Sister Edith K. in Katete. He will be travelling to Katete on Monday, November 2nd, 2009.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  1. Thank God for His faithfulness endures forever.
  2. Pray for the prison ministry that the Lord will enable us to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of the convicts.
  3. Pray for the work in Katete that the Lord will provide labourers to work with Brother N..
  4. Pray for Sister Grace B. who has started a literacy class. Pray that the Lord will use this class for the gathering of His word.
  5. Pray for me. I intend to go on a 14-day leave from November 10th-25th, 2009.
  6. Pray for the church and its leaders--for growth in the things of God.
