SEPTEMBER 2009 REPORT ONE
CHACHACHA CHAPEL

The report will highlight some of the activities at Chachacha Chapel during the first half of September.

st September - We had an evangelistic bible study in the house group. Many people came, but there were few visitors. We looked at the response to the Lord Jesus Christ and all His claims. Everybody seemed happy and we ended with some tea.

nd September - Our neighbour had an aunt in hospital. We went together to see her. We took some time to talk to her and then prayed together. After this, she looked bright. I proceeded for the evangelistic bible study in another house group. We looked at "What is a Christian?" We saw that it takes the work of God in one's life to become a Christian. The majority of the people were Christians, but we had four non-Christians in attendance.

rd September - I went to attend another evangelistic bible study. I took the lesson and we looked at Jesus as the judge. We saw that men would give an account before Christ when He comes in glory. Three woman came that we had invited for the study. Everyone appeared sober after the study.

th September - Early in morning we had a time of prayer with the elders. This was a time of reflecting upon the work of the Lord. We spend time praying for the activities of the weekend. Men's prayer meeting followed in the evening. A number of men came and we took turns calling upon the name of the Lord.

th September - We had the Church forum the whole day. We focused on missions and evangelism. The guest speaker challenged us to take evangelism and missions seriously. There were some resolutions at the end of our meeting.

th September - On Sunday morning we began with group activities. I was teaching the member's class. Thereafter we went for the main service. We had a full house and I continued with the series in Hosea. We looked at some of the sins people commit during the time of worship. During the evening I preached at a sister Church. I continued with an exposition of Ruth chapter two. We looked at comfort to the afflicted. We saw that many people bottle-up their problems and it takes grace alone to draw them out from their hearts.

th September - I visited a couple. Both of them are terminally ill. The husband seems to be frail even though he still works. The wife had recovered, but the man was still sick. He told us his condition at length. We then prayed together.

th September - My neighbour was in hospital and we took his sister there who was to attend to him. Later, we went to see him. He told us that he was having severe bleeding from the nose. I have tried to get him to Church, but he just keeps on promising. After this, I went to talk to one of the street kids. He told me that he lives on the street with his blind grandmother. The mother is still alive, but she cannot take care of him. I shared the gospel with him and he was willing to listen. He told me that there is a Church for the street people where he goes.

th September - We had the elder's meeting. We evaluated the Church Forum and looked at the work of evangelism in the house groups. We learnt that a number of people have come to appreciate the challenge of inviting people to the meetings. Some were just waiting for the programme to finish.

th September - There was another bible study in the house group. The people we had invited did not come, but there were few non-believers who listened attentively.

th September - We had a time of prayer with the elders. We prayed for members with various needs and the activities of the weekend. Later, we had a training workshop for leaders. Our goal is to sharpen the skills of those with leadership potential. Many people excused themselves and we had only a few who came.

th September - On Sunday morning I began with a member's class. We looked at the importance of God's word to all members of the Church. We also saw how the word is our final authority. During the main service we looked at stewardship. I continued with the exposition from Ruth. We looked at "Grace Abounding."
