FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH
SECOND QUARTER REPORT
FROM 1ST MAY TO 31ST AUGUST, 2009.

Dear Brethren,

We as Faith Baptist Church are very happy to have this time of sharing with you concerning what the Lord Jesus Christ undertook for us in the past four months. We are very happy for the support we receive from you both spiritually and materially. Without your help in these areas we do not know how we could have managed the work here. The second quarter was loaded with a lot of activities. We are grateful that these activities have come to fruition. The following is how this quarter went for us here at Faith Baptist Church:

MAY 2009
Pulpit Ministry:
We have handled the word on Sundays and Thursdays for a long time without much breathing space. Now, we were happy to invite two of our reformed brethren from the western province to come and share the gospel to us. On the 3rd of May, when Lusaka Baptist Church had their mission's conference, we called Pastor Binwell C. from Kambule Reformed Baptist Church (Mongu) to deliver the word. The same month on the 23rd May, we asked Brother Prince N., who is doing some reformed work in Kaoma, to preach to us. These brethren brought to us messages of hope for the dying world. I am glad that our church could have the opportunity to listen to the same message they have been hearing from me. We thank God for these men of God, who did not refuse to come and do this humbling work among us. We were encouraged.

Baptism Class: We started this class at the end of January when a number of people professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. While I was discipling two men, the number of new converts increased. I had three more to attend to each week, and so I had to combine them. Therefore, we now have a baptismal class. We took ten months in this class to ascertain their profession and to go through the baptism manual. We had to give special time to two youths who were part of the class.. This is because youths are unpredictable. However, we know that they may be genuinely saved, for salvation is of the Lord. The point I am making is that we had the privilege of baptising five believers on a Saturday, 9th May. This was Faith Baptist Church's first ever baptism service. We thank God that some churches came to witness this occasion. We had some members from KBC, Chisomo Baptist Church and Johnleig Reformed Baptist Church. Ever since this took place we have seen some increase in the spirituality of the people we baptised. However, we are still asking you to continue praying for them and our church.

Evangelism: This year we were a little more organized where the whole church ministry was concerned. On Saturday 16th May, our women's ministry was out inviting people for the Evangelistic Tea Party which was held on the 23rd May at Highland High School (this is a meeting place for Faith Baptist Church). We had a good number of people who attended this meeting. The total attendance was 52 people of which 18 came from the 100 invitation slips which were given to people in the targeted area of Kabanana site. The others were from KBC and Chisomo Baptist who came through to support us. From this effort we have had more women visiting us. The Sunday after this gathering we had 4 visitors who attended our church which were at the same meeting.

JUNE 2009
We are thankful to the Lord God almighty for making it possible for Faith Baptist Church to secure a piece of land. We are here to let you know that we paid the remaining balance on the 8th of June. The land is now ours. We praise God for this (Romans 8:28). We want to take this opportunity to thank KBC for their support in this process. We also paid for the surveyors when we paid our first installment (the land was just numbered and was not surveyed). Now, we are pleased to announce to you that the land has been surveyed and this was done on the first week of August. The title deed which will come forth will not be in our name but it's us who will keep it. On the same piece of land we have three parties. Therefore, there will be need to call the surveyors again for subdividing so that we will have our own title deed. As it is we can start building. Pray for us in this regard. We continued with evangelism which left us with a lot of work to be done. We have been very busy in the month of June trying to follow up with the Sunday visitors as well as the women who came for the Tea party. Our attendees are learning to work for the Lord meaning that they sometimes accompany us for evangelism. We are teaching them the responsibility of practical Christianity. Pray for them to feel the importance of our mission as we evangelise together.

JULY 2009
We want to commend the women ministry of KBC who promised to come back for door to door. They showed up in July. We thank God for their help in the spread of the gospel. Their evangelistic efforts will pay off. They're coming to Kabanana for evangelism saw the coming of Mr P. M. who after two weeks came with the wife and children. The other group that we want to commend is the Roma Cell Group who also came to help with the work of Baptist Faith Church. We thank God for them that their efforts resulted in the coming of visitors to our church from time to time. Brethren, this is no small job for us here in Kabanana. We need your prayers to establish us and settle us. Chisomo Baptist Church is one other group which are worthy of praise. They have been supportive from inception of our church, especially the women's ministry and the youths who come every week.

AUGUST 2009
On the 1st of August, Faith Baptist Church hosted leadership seminar. This came about because we saw our converted and baptised men not participating in life of the church. I thought the best way to start is to involve them in the work of the church. So, we called Pastor Lichawa T. to come and teach on their role to lead the worship service and also Song Leading. We came to realise that the worship service and songs in the vernacular churches are not well done and therefore it was necessary to do something. We invited three leaders from Chiyanjano Reformed, Johnleng Reformed and Chisomo Baptist Church. We had a wonderful time. We have plans to have the second phase of the same seminar before the end of this year.

Two people recently came to me and testified of their conversion. One was asking when we are starting another baptism class. This has been a short account of God's dealing with us at Faith Baptist Church.

Yours in Christ Service,

Curtis C.
Missionary Pastor
