KAFUE REFORMED BAPTIST CHURCH
BI-WEEKLY REPORT 15TH TO 28TH JUNE, 2009
WEEK BEGINNING 15TH JUNE

I had an appointment at church with a widow on Tuesday, 16th June. This lady is now on ARVs on account of her unfaithfulness to her late husband. She blames herself each time she thinks about her behaviour during the years with her husband. She came seeking for some work to help her sustain her family. They were married at Emmasdale Church then (now Bread of Life). Her visit came after she had been to KBC asking for help, then she was referred to us here at KRBC. After an assessment of her situation, we concluded she was genuine, so we sought for some financial help from the missions account at KBC, which we hope will give her help until she can do something on her own. She has already been to church, and has promised to continue coming. She admits she is not well spiritually. Pray for wisdom on the part of the leadership to help her sort out her spiritual life.

In the evening of the same day, I visited Mr and Mrs K., on his request. He was one of those nominated for the office of elder, and after the church seminar we had with Rev N. he called me to let me know that he had withdraw his candidature for the office of elder. He said he needed to learn more before he could occupy such a high office. I tried to persuade him, but he still felt he needed to be better informed doctrinally than he is at the moment. We agreed that we will commence these studies soon, and be meeting at least once a week. Pray for me as I try to help this brother. The ordination will proceed, with only one brother to be ordained, Mr Seke L., on 5th July, 2009.

I spent the rest of the week making preparations to preach for the next two weekends. I travelled on Friday to Chambishi, to the home of Pastor and Mrs N., who were to be my hosts during my two weekends preaching engagement at Fairview Reformed Baptist Church.

Saturday 20th June, I preached in Mufulira at Fairview Reformed Baptist Church, who had organised a ladies meeting in the afternoon. It was well attended, and I preached from Ruth 1:16-18. Judging from the questions at the end, the message seems to have been well received. Sunday, I preached from Luke 17:32. The church was having its harvest month.

WEEK BEGINNING 22ND JUNE

During the week, since they had no other meetings, I used it to fine tune my preparations and managed to visit some brethren in Kitwe, and my mom, who is still in Kitwe. I also managed to attend a mid-week meeting in Chililabombwe, with Pastor S., who was teaching on the Trinity.

I preached again on Saturday, 27th June, this time at a couple's fellowship. It was well attended, and again the time of questions was encouraging. I wound up my preaching a message from Luke 17:33 in the morning, and Isaiah 62:4-7 in the evening.

I trust the Lord will confirm his word with some of those who listened to his word being transformed completely.

AMEN

Kennedy S. (Pastor)
