CHACHACHA CHAPEL Here are some of the activities I did during the last half of June: 15th-26th June - I was teaching at the bible college. The course was going on for two weeks and the topic was pneumatology and angelology. I had five students in this class with different backgrounds. We looked at the personality of the Holy Spirit, the history of the doctrine, His divinity and baptism in the Holy Spirit. We considered the need to walk in the Holy Spirit. We learnt about the personality of the angels and their ministry. We went ahead to study fallen angels and their evil activities. Students had many questions, but we came to realize that many people believe strange doctrines concerning the Holy Spirit. There is need to straighten out the theology of the people in Churches. People do not appreciate the ministry of the angels among us. This brings about unnecessary fears and anxiety. 16th June - I went to attend one of the house groups. Some of the regular people did not come. There were many young people. They were looking at how to follow up with converts. They wrote down a number of convictions that they needed to do before the meeting starts. Many people seem to have unknown fears about following up people. 19th June - Early in the morning, we met with the elders for prayers. A student on internship joined us for prayers. We evaluated the week and looked at some coming events. We spent time calling upon the Lord to visit us and work mightily in our midst.20th June - One of our members phoned me at midnight because his wife was in the hospital. She was expecting and her blood pressure had shot up and she was having a problem with her kidney. Nurses were not working and this brought about anxiety. Very early in the morning, I went to see her at hospital. I found that she had given birth to twins, both girls. We rejoiced with the family, but the woman needed to recover completely. In the afternoon, I went to attend the women's meeting. They were dealing with the subject "writing of a will." They invited a lawyer to handle this topic. We all saw the need of dividing assets before death so that we do not leave problems behind. I moved on to see Lillian at hospital. She was in pain and the half foot was getting black. The operation was not healing. 21st June - We came for worship and before the main service we had group activities. There were many children, but adults were few. Many people came for the main service and we were running out of chairs. We saw from the book of Hosea how blind we are to our own sins. We went back in the evening and we were looking at the cost of discipleship. 22nd June - A member lost a sister and we were burying her on this day. Many people had come to bid farewell to the deceased and to console the relatives. This was a time of meeting with the brethren. 24th June - I went to see Lillian at the hospital. She was uneasy, but quite calm. She could talk with the people around her. In the evening, I attended a house group. They were winding up on how to do house group evangelism. People wanted to talk, but there was no time. What remained now was to go and start inviting people. 27th June - I was speaking at the youth meeting. There were many boys and girls and the subject was obedience. We considered the causes why people disobey, how you should obey, consequences for those who disobey and the importance of obeying. We moved on to see the patient and she was in pain. We went from there to attend a funeral of a brother from a sister Church. 28th June - We had a guest service. There were few visitors, but the house was full of people of all ages. We had a brother within our Church preaching. He preached with passion and conviction. Outside the Church, we had a number of people asking for membership through baptism and profession of faith. In the afternoon, we had business meeting where people from various ministries gave reports. We saw what the Lord is doing among us, but again there was need to move on with God. 29th June - I went to attend a burial of one of our brothers. He left a wife behind and three children. His widow demonstrated such faith in the face of death that she sent many of us to tears. She never wept, but prayed fervently as she was saying bye to her beloved. She thanked God for the time she spent with her husband and prayed that the same God would take care of her children. PRAYER NEEDS
