SECOND ACTIVITY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2009

Building Project

The church building project is currently placing a high demand on my time. On Tuesday 10th November we worked all day to set the foundation of the sanctuary. On Wednesday we called in the building inspectors who were satisfied with what we had done and gave us the go ahead with digging the foundation. The digging of the foundation was completed in two days, Thursday and Friday. Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th were spent pegging the foundation concrete levels. Today, Wednesday 18th, we were procuring materials for the foundation concrete and reinforced columns. The Lord willing, the pouring of the foundation concrete may start tomorrow.

Care for needy souls

By God's grace, my occupation with the building project has not robbed me of the joy of caring for needy souls. On Monday evening, 9th November, my wife and I went to counsel a couple whose marriage had come to the point of breaking up. The wife is a member of the church while the husband has hardened his heart to the Gospel for a long time (although he attends our services fairly regularly). After counselling them, the husband did not want to submit to the authority of God's word. He went to drink as soon as we left their house. In mercy the Lord allowed him to get into such bitter scuffles with his drinking mates that he went home feeling he was a vile criminal. On Tuesday night when we made a follow-up on the couple, we found the man in a broken state ready to seek God's mercy and cleansing with tears. What a joy it was to witness a stubborn soul break down before the Lord and pour out his heart in repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for the spiritual growth of this new saint by the name of Wallace K.
